Muia will discuss her powerful, atmospheric book set in nineteenth-century Baja California, where ruined Spanish missions and a harsh desert landscape shape the lives of unforgettable characters. Blending history, myth, and place, the novel explores loss, survival, and the search for redemption in a land as beautiful as it is unforgiving.
